A few items to remember and your client should also be aware of these items.

Your client should be aware that if you can’t see it, you can’t inspect it.
2.
Your client should be aware that you do not disassemble any part of the vessel or its equipment.
3.
Your client should be aware that you may cancel the scheduled inspection if weather or other situations arise that do not permit
a proper inspection.
4.
Pressure testing of tanks is strictly forbidden by your rules of engagement and common sense.
5.
Your client should be aware that you are not equipped to suggest whether he make the purchase or walk away from it.
6.
Your job is to present the factual condition and as a professional marine surveyor, your estimate of the value of the vessel.
7.
Your client should check with his insurer or lender to determine if an (in the water Test) and (Haul out) is required.
8.
Your responsibility boils down to the following items: Delivering an accurate report of the overall condition of the vessel.
The report should identify any potential hazards. The report should identify recent upgrades. The report should determine the fair
current market and replacement values, and how they were determined. The report should address the reccomendations section with
regard to repairs and standards to consider in making the repairs.
